Everything about Synnove has been curated to fit within the confines of a specific archetype . From the trailing griffin feather in her ruby-red chapeau to the lace trim of her bliaud, she looks as though she could have walked out of a storybook. Perhaps she has: the Crimson Duelists dressed much the same as this one, although she is far too young to be one of them in truth. She acts as though this ostentatious garb is as common to her as a tunic and leggings. Maybe it is.Beneath the feathered cap is a young woman - perhaps thirty summers, and likely less. Her red lips are constantly smiling, and her deep-set eyes are lined with black shadow to accentuate their dark brown shade. It's rare to see her out without a full face. Given her outfits, she's near-constantly looking overdressed.Synnove is small in comparison to her countrymen, but the loud, bright brogue with which she speaks marks her as Ala Mhigan to the bone. So too does the style of her rapier and magical focus: a griffin twirls within circles of brass above her hand. Further, if she's not wearing her Duelist's garb, she's likely to be found in Resistance uniform. (She swears that she's only a reservist, still...)Despite the confidence with which she carries herself, a smudge of her makeup reveals deep bags under her eyes. Her bright facade is a beautiful one, but it is meant to be viewed rather than known.

I talk to god, but the sky is empty.

HOOKS
Devotion
Synnove is drawn immediately to others who are as wholeheartedly, self-destructively devoted to Rhalgr as she is. In most cases, this understanding has come from Fists of Rhalgr. She's likely to spar them (and lose), or argue with them (and win). Whether it's rivalry, spite, obsession, or adoration, she's sure to feel something for Rhalgr's chosen.
Solidarity
Synnove has a special soft spot for the people of other previously occupied Garlean provinces. She's always willing to sit down and talk, or to come to give her hard-won gil to a businessman she knows has earned it. If she were to meet a Garlean citizen, she'd have words to share with them, too...
Audacity
Like many other devotees of the Destroyer, Synnove takes utmost joy in the pursuit of martial perfection. She's a stellar mage, but far less notable for her hand-to-hand combat. Despite that, she's always down to partake in a good sparring match... especially if she's going to lose.
Nostalgia
The Crimson Duelists are the stuff of Ala Mhigan legend, but they're just that: legends. Aren't they? This woman may or may not claim the title - it seems to depend on the day - but she certainly looks the part. Maybe you have questions about it. Maybe you think she should take off the stupid hat. Or maybe you recognize that name of hers all too well.
acuity
Having long since given up on studying with other true red mages, Synnove is constantly searching for new information about the magical schools that form the foundation for her own. Anyone with the slighest piece of information on Mhach or Amdapor would be able to hook her like a fish.
Competence
Synnove works on an as-needed basis, making only as much gil as she needs to fund her research interests. Much of her gil comes from other mages who take an interest in her storage of potions or aether-infused stones. Perhaps you're interested in purchasing something?
OOC
Hi! I'm Griff. I'm 27 and I use he/they OOC. Thanks for reading Hasret's carrd! This page has a little bit about me, my style, and my preferred genres and themes.I'm available M-F after 5pm CST, or anytime on weekends. I write short posts in groups and default to para / multipara in 1v1s. My OCs are generally lore-abiding and I'd like my RP partners' to be the same. That said, it's all rule of cool to me! I like to call my approach lore-expansive, because I love to do personal worldbuilding but I try to stay within the guardrails of the actual lore. The last item should be basic, but is worth saying explicitly: many of XIV's themes echo real-world issues, and I expect other writers to make a good-faith effort to be sensitive to that. I'll always try to assume the best of others, but I also reserve the right to disengage if OOC conduct, character design, or the scene itself is uncomfortable. Similarly, I do my best, but if I make a mistake and write something that plays into harmful stereotypes, I would like to know about it so that I can improve.I'm pretty friendly, if a bit of a bad texter, and I'm always happy to plot. Say hi sometime!
